Learn and Master Guitar DVD Review - Part 1
Here is my full Learn and Master Guitar DVD review.
The DVDs
It's real easy to do the lessons with the DVDs. On a computer, I just clicked the desired lesson with my mouse.
It's probably just as easy to use in a traditional DVD player as well.
A Very Handy Guitar Tuner
A handy feature I'd like to mention in this Learn and Master Guitar DVD review is the handy Tuning
section. It's found at the main menu of every DVD. When my guitar got out of tune during a session, I just
went to the main menu and got it back in tune.

Almost every session on each DVD covers these topics, which I feel made the session that much better:
- Instruction
- Guitar Tips
- Assignment
- Workshop
Continuing on with my Learn and Master Guitar DVD review...
High-Impact Teaching
I enjoyed the DVDs very much. The DVDs are the heart and soul of the whole program. They are
professionally recorded videos. It is hosted and taught by Steve Krenz. Steve is a professional guitar player --
and a wonderful teacher. He gave encouragement throughout the whole session, which I was very pleased with. As a
rank beginner, I gladly take any support given! The 'classroom' Steve teaches in has great lighting, which gave me
a relaxed, warm feeling. Legacy Learning Systems did a great job with their Learn and Master Guitar DVD program.
Each session starts off with Steve playing a short
piece -- either with an acoustic steel-string, an electric, or a nylon-string classical guitar. A famous
quotation is also shown as he plays -- nice touch. I always found these beginning parts of the session
uplifting and inspiring. It made me want to start learning right away!
Reinforced Learning
Throughout the program, the DVD showed
relevant notes or chords on the side. This way of learning reinforced it further into my brain. I had to add
this to my Learn and Master Guitar DVD review because it's like having a teacher by my side to teach and
support me. The DVDs provide a great, interactive effect. As I learned with Steve, I could rewind or
fast-forward right away. Super easy.
Each session also has a Guitar Tips
section. Here, Steve gives tips unique with learning the guitar. In one part, he explains why changing chords
correctly is critical when playing the guitar. I also learned the importance of staying away from the dreaded
Em-11 chord.
Thorough Teaching Over 20 Sessions
Here's another thing I'd like to write about in this Learn and Master Guitar DVD review: The main program
consists of 20 sessions. I found this gave me wide coverage of the different styles of playing and how to play
them. The time I spent on each session varies. Each session in the book gave me an "Estimated Time to Learn",
showing how long it should take to learn a certain concept. Of course, this is an estimate -- you may learn faster
or slower.
At the end of each session, there were assignments to help solidify the concepts. To make review easier, each
assignment has a reference to the associated lesson pages.
When I had difficulty in a session, I just marked it on the lesson book, and proceeded on. On my free time, I
visited Learn and Master's website forum for help with those problems.
Pure beginners -- like me -- should follow each session in order. If you have some experience, you can jump
around for a quick review of stuff you already know, or just focusing on things you need.
